Play Places

Play Places is an initiative across Fife, aimed at supporting professionals that work with vulnerable primary school-aged children and their families. Play Places provides short-term, financially supported placements within out of school clubs operated by Fife Council or Fife’s private and voluntary sectors services too.

The objective is to offer high-quality support to vulnerable children and families, ensuring children have a positive play experience in a safe and suitable care environment.

How many sessions can each child recieve?

Each referral is assessed on an individual basis, based on the information provided by the referrer.

This could range from one session to a number of sessions each week over a term.

Who can refer?

We would welcome referrals from any service, agency or professional directly working with children and their families.

What is the referral criteria?

Although we will consider referrals for a wide range of reasons, we particularly welcome referrals to support:

  • Young carers
  • Kinship carers
  • Family health issues
  • Social exclusion
  • Family crisis
