Cairneyhill Out of School Club

Cairneyhill OOSC is located in a hut within Cairneyhill Primary and Community School playground. We provide a safe and engaging environment for children and young people, where they can develop, learn, and most importantly have fun.

Our facilities include access to the dining hall/gym hall, school playground, and park. We have outdoor and indoor storage which can offer a wide range of loose parts for creative play.

We use the large outdoor space for activities such as hide-and-seek and den-building. Additionally, we take trips to the local areas including the shops and post office.

The club does not have garden space in the playground but the children plant and grow numerous plants and herbs to use in the club. The children also regularly bake and make jams/mincemeat, chutneys and lemon curd!

The club has an allocated space in the school which reflects all the children’s interests. The artwork and photos show how much the children are at the forefront of what happens within the club.

At Cairneyhill OOSC, children lead their own experience. They have the opportunity to plan their own snacks and activities, encouraging autonomy and decision-making. We offer a healthy selection of snacks. The children are provided with a variety of fun and engaging activities. These include loose parts play, construction toys, quiet spaces, tabletop games, arts and crafts, and more.

We operate as a term-time club, with holiday childcare available upon request to support families during school breaks.

Cairneyhill OOSC also offers breakfast spaces for the children from 7.30 in the morning. The children are provided with a healthy breakfast to kick start their day at school.
