Fife Council Out of School Clubs

Service Closures

We make every effort to keep any closures of our out of school clubs to a minimum.

However, there may be occasions when we are unable to provide a service due to planned or unforeseen circumstances, including the following:

  • periods of severe adverse weather
  • circumstances where the out of school club building is unavailable, including issues such as power cuts or interruption to the water supply
  • our annual staff in-service training day (date to be confirmed)
  • one public holiday in May
  • one public holiday in July
  • a two-week closure during the Christmas school holidays
  • staffing shortages where we are unable to operate safely and in line with Care Inspectorate requirements
In some circumstances, it may be necessary to temporarily merge an out of school club with a neighbouring service so that we can continue to provide childcare.Where an alternative service can be offered, including at a neighbouring club, full childcare fees will still apply regardless of whether your child or young person attends.
