Fife Council Out of School Clubs

Illness and Exclusion Periods

If your child becomes unwell while attending the out of school club, we will contact you as soon as possible and ask that they are collected promptly.

This helps us to ensure your child is comfortable, receives the appropriate care, and reduces the risk of illness spreading to other children and staff.

We therefore ask that emergency contact details are kept up to date so that we can reach you quickly if needed.

Exclusion Periods

The out of school club follows the UK Health Security Agency Guidance on exclusion periods for specific illnesses.

This guidance helps us decide when children should remain at home and when it is safe for them to return to the service.

If you are unsure whether your child is well enough to attend, please contact the club and we will be happy to discuss this with you.

Prolonged Illness

If your child or young person is unable to attend the out of school club due to a prolonged illness or a hospital stay, childcare fees will remain payable for the first two weeks of absence.

After this time, we would encourage you to contact the Childcare Manager to discuss your individual circumstances.

Please speak with your Childcare Manager at the earliest opportunity so that we can offer appropriate support and discuss any questions you may have about childcare fees during your child’s absence.
