Southwood Out of School Club

Our club is based in Southwood primary school, the school serves local people within the Macedonia and part of the Tanshall area which is in the West of Glenrothes. The school opened in 1966 and offers spacious outdoor play spaces including both concrete and grass play areas along with a trim trail and community use garden.

Our after-school club opened its doors in 2005 for families in the local Macedonia, Tanshall area along with providing taxi pickup from Newcastle, South Parks and Leslie primary.

All school areas attending are catchment schools for Glenwood High allowing children to foster new friendships prior to starting high school.

We are fortunate to have access to the community use room within the school for our service. Our service is situated on the ground floor of Southwood school with disabled access, along with access to large spacious outdoor play spaces allowing us to promote free flow play indoors and out.

Parents can pre-book set days or use us as and when required.  We provide a taxi pickup from Newcastle and Leslie Primary school & South Parks (term time only) to after school

We offer after school (term time) and full day cover during school holidays and in-service days.

We strive on free play opportunities for children allowing them to learn new skills whiles they play in a safe secure setting. With staff who will encourage, support and nurture children to meet their own individual goal.

Our Vision:     

• Provide a play environment for children that gives choice, challenge, and risk to stretch their own development while respecting others right to play  
•  Support play by offering resources and activities that allow children to develop their own play  
•  Provide opportunities for children to play together developing their social skills along with awareness on how to risk assess their own play   
•  Develop outdoor play within the environment along with taking play into the local community  
•  Consult with parents to identify the needs of their child
• Work to make links with other organisations and agencies to expand experiences for the children attending  . 

Opening Hours and Fees

• After School Club: 3.00 to 6.00pm
• Holiday Club: 7.30am to 6.00pm (During school holidays we operate from Caskieberran Primary School)
