Carnegie Out of School Club
Carnegie Out of School Club located within Carnegie Primary School, which is in Dunfermline’s eastern expansion. We are in walking distance to all main bus routes and a short drive to local motorways which makes it perfect for commuting families. The service is mainly based within the gym/dining hall. The service operates from 07:30 to 09:00 and then 14:45 to 18:00 Monday to Friday during school term time. During school holidays and in-service days, the service merges with Commercial Out of School Club in Dunfermline, taking turns to be the main venue. By doing this we feel that the children get lots of opportunities for different play experiences as both settings and surrounding areas are very different.
The club was established in August 2011 and has seen lots of children come through the doors over the years. Our staff team consisting of a Manager, Senior Childcare Practitioner and several Childcare Practitioners who daily care for the children in attendance and support the children to access a wide range of play-bases activities and experiences such as outdoor play and loose parts play, as well as activities that get their creative mind flowing. If the children are looking for someplace to relax or chill before and after school, we have that covered too. The children get to choose what they want to do.
Our aim is to provide quality school aged childcare to support families to gain employment, access training for work, or attend further education. Children and young people will be supported to participate in a wide range of fun, play based activities that reflect their individual needs, likes and interests. We aim to provide a fun, safe and nurturing environment for all who attend.
In both sessions we offer a breakfast or a snack which is in line with the Healthy Eating in School guidelines. The children are involved in the planning and prepping of snack and even the washing up! At breakfast time the children are encouraged to make their own cereal or toast. Some of our favourite afternoon snacks are pizza wraps and pancakes. We have fresh fruit and veg available daily and milk or water to drink. We cater for all allergy and dietary requirements.
