Positive Inspection Outcome for Lawhead Out of School Club
Lawhead Out of School Club in St Andrews has received a positive report from the Care Inspectorate following an unannounced inspection carried out in April 2026.
The service was evaluated as ‘Good’ (Grade 4) across all key quality indicators, recognising the strong quality of care, leadership and experiences provided for children.
Inspectors highlighted that children attending the club are happy, confident and feel respected, benefiting from strong, trusting relationships with staff and peers. A positive atmosphere was evident, where children are supported to lead their play, make independent choices and feel valued within the setting.
Families spoke highly of the service, describing staff as welcoming and approachable, with effective communication and a consistent team helping to build trust and stability for children.
The report also recognised the nurturing and inclusive environment created by staff, with children supported in their wellbeing, independence and social development. A strong sense of partnership between staff and families was identified as a key strength.
While the overall findings were positive, the Care Inspectorate have of course identified some areas for improvement which the team will be working through over thec oming months.
